Introduction

If your BMW or Mini has fault codes, or if you would like to know if it has any. Or if you simply want to enable or disable some options, then I might be able to help. I have the software and hardware that allows me to read specific fault codes, clear them, and enable or disable options on your car.

I invested in quality software and hardware from relieable sources, BimmerGeeks and Bimmercode.

It all started because I wanted to diagnose my personal car (BMW 328i 2011) and since I got this software and hardware; I have had many people come in and I helped them register their battery, read fault codes, or customize their car to their liking.

I'm an individual, not a shop. I don't sell parts, but I might be able to recommend some based on my personal experience.

If you look at the horizon and see the edge of earth, you can probably see me. I'm Located at Nolancrest Heights NW. Calgary, Alberta. Canada.

The hardware I have supports these makes and models:

  • 1 Series: E81, E82, E87, E88

Mini

  • R55, R56, R57, R58, R59, R60, R61
  • F54, F55, F56, F57, F60

Features

  • Read fault codes

Can read and clear fault codes. Some fault codes don't throw a dash warning light, they are called shadow fault codes.

I'll send you the generated fault error log with the specific fault codes, not the generic ones you get with a $10 bluetooth adapters.

  • Angel Eyes (halo rings) as DRL (Daytime Running Lights)

Use the halo rings as DRL, this will depend on the FRM module version in your car.

  • Rollup windows and close sunroof with keyfob

  • Register battery

Register your new battery. Can also switch between battery types.

Registering the battery insures it doesn't get over charged, which would result in shorter battery life.

  • Fold side mirrors with keyfob

Of course you need power folding side mirrors. How can you tell if you have it? Well if you have a round button on the driver's windows switch that you can press to fold; then you have power folding side mirrors.

  • Euro hazard blinks (double impulse)

It goes blink blink…blink blink…blink blink.

  • 5 blinks

Enable 5 blinks for the turn signal instead of the maximum 3.

  • Digital Speedometer

  • Brighter halo rings and fog lights

Can be applied to original halogen halo rings or aftermarket LED bulbs.

  • Return wipers to home position upon engine turn off

BMW decided it's going to leave the windshield wipers in the middle if you turn off the car while they are on. Forcing you to turn on the ignition again just so you turn off the wipers!

  • Keep it dry

Close the sunroof and rollup windows with rain sensor. Even after you turn off and lock the car.

  • Turn on front and rear fog lights as welcome light

Yes, our cars come with a rear fog light, but it's disabled from factory.

  • Disable disclaimers

Disable the iDrive disclaimer/warning and if you have a backup camera; you can disable the disclaimer on that as well.

  • Door handle LED on when reversing

Turn on the door handle LED lights when engaging reverse (on supported series only).

  • Enable Enhanced Bluetooth (on supported models and hardware)

Enable bluetooth music streaming. So far I have enabled it on F30 that had combox installed.

  • So many other little features and retrofit coding

Pricing

  • Diagnostic and clear fault codes: $20
  • Enable 1 option or register the battery: $30
  • Enable more than 1 option: $60 (total) + free diagnostic report

Payment by cash or e‐transfer.

  • You can find out from this Wikipedia entry https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:BMW_vehicle_series

  • I bought the software and the hardware so I can diagnose and to help me customize my cars the way I want it.

This is something I enjoy doing and I like to help others too.

  • I have the BimmerGeeks Protool Andoid app, and I bought their bluetooth OBDII adapter. I also have Bimmercode app.

  • With any fiddling with electronics on these modern cars, there is always a risk. That's why I invested in a professional quality tool since I don't want a heavy paper weight in my garage. Yet this has to be stated; I take no responsibility if something happens to your car.

With that being said; the app makes automatic backups of each module. And I make a manual backup of each module as well. Better play it safe than sorry. That's why my coding session takes a bit longer due to making frequent backups.

  • The car's different module store errors. Some errors will show a warning symbol on your dash/navigation screen, but not all errors will.

The error codes that are stored and do not show a warning light are called shadow fault codes. I will read all fault codes that are stored, save them to a log file, then clear them out if you want. After that's done; I'll email you the error log.

The fault codes do provide what module(s) in question, and the BMW or Mini specific error code.

  • I can clear out fault codes, but they will return if the underlying issue still exist

An example of an error that can be cleared out is when you unplug a wire harness -airbag for example- and forgot to disconnect the battery, once you turn on the car; it would report an airbag error on your dash. Such error can be cleared -I have done it before.

  • Sorry, I'm not a car mechanic. Though you can let me know what issue your car have. I might have come across something related online.

    Please use the .

  • Please use the and describe what you're looking for.

  • On average, it takes anywhere between 30 minutes to 1 hour.

However, depending on your requests, if it's something that require multiple settings to be enabled/disabled; then it could take longer. In that case, I'll connect a trickle charger to keep the battery from going too low.

I also ask you if your battery is good or not for a ~45 minutes session.

  • Great! Please use the and describe what you're looking for.

I'm usually available after 7:30pm. on weekdays, and we can also arrange something on the weekend.

  • I'm at the edge of earth at Nolancrest Heights NW. I'll provide full address once we setup a date and time.

Sorry, I don't do house calls. For the prices I'm charging; It doesn't make sense.

  • Well, thank you for the nice words. I made it myself. I'm a full time webdeveloper. Contact me through the main site at sinanghareb.com.
